How it works
- You need to have ordered from us. Reviews are matched to a real order before a code goes out.
- A photo is required. It has to be your own photo of the journal you received — not a stock image or one from our site.
- Any rating qualifies. One star or five, the code is the same. We're not paying for a score.
- One code per person, and it never expires. It takes 50% off your next order and can be used once. It can't be stacked with another discount code, though free shipping still applies.
- Codes go out after the review is published, typically within 48 hours.
Why we don't ask for five stars
We could have made this offer conditional on a glowing review. Plenty of stores do. We didn't, for two reasons.
The first is that it's against the rules — paying for a specific rating is prohibited by the FTC in the US and by the Competition Act in Canada, and stores get penalised for it.
The second is that it wouldn't work. A wall of identical five-star reviews is the fastest way to make a store look fake. If you thought the paper was thinner than expected, or the questions didn't land the way you hoped, say so. That's the review that helps someone else decide — and it tells us what to fix.
Questions
Do I still get the code if I leave a critical review?
Yes. The code depends on the review and the photo, not on what the review says. If something went wrong with your order, email us as well — we'd rather fix it than read about it.
Can I use the code on a bundle?
Yes — it takes 50% off your order total, bundles included, on top of the bundle price that's already discounted.
What if I bought it as a gift and don't have it anymore?
A photo taken before you gave it away works fine, as does one the recipient sends you. It just has to be a real photo of the journal from your order.
Will my photo appear publicly?
Yes — photo reviews are shown on the product page. Don't include anything you wouldn't want public. If you'd rather the photo stayed private, email it to us instead and we'll handle the code manually.
How long do I have?
There's no deadline, on either end. Whether your journal arrived last week or last year, the offer stands — and once you have your code, it doesn't expire.
Reviews submitted through this offer are published with a disclosure noting that the reviewer received a discount in exchange for reviewing. We do not edit, filter, or remove reviews based on their rating.
